I transitioned from a career in meteorology and computing to study and practice drawing and painting. I’ve lived, travelled and worked around the world. I am an Australian, now living in Houston, with family and friends spread around the globe.

I bring my iPad on my travels, drawing sketches and capturing photos that are a starting point for my paintings which are created in my studio at Silver Street in Houston.

See the world through my lens on instagram. You’ll see a bit of my process, get updates and get a glimpse into my family and life.

The places I call home

  • Aerial view of a farmland with rectangular fields, some with water, and a distant rural area with buildings on the horizon under a blue sky.

    Houston

    Texas

  • Artrage digital landscape with a tall leafy tree, green grass, and a cloudy sky.

    Melbourne

    Australia

  • Artrage digital painting with horizontal streaks of blue, green, and white. The location 'Mirabella 2021' is in the bottom right corner.

    Mirabella

    Italy

  • Digital painting drawn from airplane window of mountain with a pale sky above.

    Seattle

    Washington

Wherever I am, I draw on my iPad, saving every sketch. I try to capture the essence and excitement of the moment.

My focus varies, as I sit in a moving car or train or plane, with signs, cars, clouds and trees zooming by, or relax in a room creating movement as I turn my head and I see something new.

A few of my favorite things

My favorite resin is ArtResin! Their site is also great for tips and tricks! Oh and their calculator is great for working out how much resin you need!

For gesso I use Utrecht professional gesso. It’s thick and creamy. Use a roller for large canvases.

Everything Golden on Amazon for acrylic paints, golden mediums, pouring mediums, glazes, high flow paints! The golden site is also great for advice.

For my alcohol ink works on yupo paper, I use copic ink refills from Blick.

The charity that I support is the National Arthritis Research Foundation - lupus - I donate a percentage of sales of any of the formia series to help fund their research.
